Hidden Paths

In the riddle of the woods
the mist does flow like a living
obscuring veil of mysteries,
hiding all the paths with liquid presence--
every path is coaxed into silence
and does not call out to my traveling ears,
to come this way or that.
i cannot discover the way that i must go
among a labyrinth teeming
with overlapping fluid vagueness...

As i wander there in the forest.
Each mysterious bough seems to gently
turn their limbs in gentle reflection--
singing matchless in the impending oppression of nothingness.
Each leaf rustles elating their woody prayers
echoing up into the corridors of the heavens.
cascading their worship to the throne beyond all worlds
how can i not let my humble hymns
not join theirs with my unspoken words
turning as a windmill among their serene voices
as the mists swirls around me like invisible pinwheels
covering the paths i must choose that which may diverge
with me unknowing obscuring the ways
set out darkening me into insignificance. . .

i pray for your inner light
oh keeper of my prayers
and your supernal language echoes
out the conundrums of my heart
and your living words like radiant doves
lights me beyond all perplexities and troubles--
beyond this mortal blindness
and my unknowing feet follow
traveling the paths that my own eyes do not comprehend. . .
