Many times while growing up

I was always called a loser

So it should be of no surprise

I am my personal abuser

But now I have gotten older

And searched deep down inside

Where I hear those little comments

That stole most my hope and pride

So as time began to heal

These scars that I have carried

Iím digging up these things

Within in me I have buried

Understanding pulled a lever

That released my hurt and shame

And knowledge made me prouder

Of this man behind my name

My feet are moving forward

I'll no longer look behind

But I won't forget the moments

Or the depths of uphill climbs

I lived within a shallow grave

But I climbed out of that hole

So now Iím repairing the damage

That I've done to my poor soul

Author's Notes:

And sometimes we drown in the seas of despair-
Normally I try to lift up the spirits of as many as I can-
Right now it just seems like nothing is going right and
even if I try to bring peace to myself it just aggravates me more-
At the time of writing this The most recent cycle was a consuming one
and it hit me like a wave of emotion- All the tragedies along the coast-
Friends with some deep troubles- My Mother in Law that I love dearly
had a rough two weeks- I just needed to breathe-

Very well written....loved the way you portrayed the battle from living in the "shallow" grave"....keep walking! You're bound to reach a mountain top again soon!

GREAT WRITING MY FRIEND,Now that you climbed out of a hole created by people that didn't have the vision and inside to do what you was able to do, feel sorry for them, they will remain there, and go on. In many ways experience had help you grow into the compassionate and wise man you are today.

Been there my brother and so I am sending you loving thoughts to lighten your darkness.
Words are so powerful and the things said to us in childhood can have far reaching effects.
You are anything but a loser and I am walking beside you in spirit till you feel stronger.
in love and understanding support.
