Inspiration's Mistress

Your sweetness and light
Tempered by darkness and unknowing
What we believed to be
The unshiftable truth

How your natural fuel
Fills our minds with rare energy
A finger's touch raises
Holy pain and hope almost forlorn

Word slivers break through
Our dark-stained windows
Letting in the light of distant suns
That our rationality pronounced dead long ago

All the while
You chisel new shapes of life

Author's Notes:
This was written for one of the most gifted and inspiring poets I had the pleasure to meet on this site, Corina Stirb. Thank you for everything :-)!

Yes Corina should be very pleased. Such an honor you have woven for her. Such great lines you have unpacked in the mind.
"Letting in the light of distant suns
That our rationality pronounced dead long ago" is a micropoem in itself....
