Side by Side

Side by side under a dark sky
We embrace while thunder roars
Beckoned by the voice of friendship
Bonding while our spirits soar

Side by side when brisk winds needle
Under an umbrella of warm love
We cling, though trials and sorrows
Pelt like raindrops from above

Side by side we kiss the sunshine
Joining hands, absorbing beams
Two souls soaking in joy's essence
Slowly straining at the seams

Side by side we pen our poems
We are sisters, mind to mind
Storm or sun, in strength or weakness
Side by side we're doing fine

Author's Notes:
~This is a poem I had added to the community poem that Ron Miller organized. I've given it a title so it can be found in my collection of poems. I dedicate this poem to my beloved friend Cherie Money as a token of the bond we share~

A sincere and charming poem.  Sentiments of true friendship.

These are lovely words of friendship, Barbara, of a bond that will never break. I like how you move from stormy weather, to sunshine, and finally simply to writing - which is what we're all here to share. Good work.
