READING IN THE ATTIC
I found the first letter you wrote me last night,

As I rummaged about in the attic.

The purple ink has faded slightly

But the writing can still be read.

I sat down on the attic floor

And read it. Then I cried.

Iíll ask our John to remember

To put the photo in my coffin

Before the lid is closed on me,

So that I can take it with me back to you.

Yes indeed. A poem to make us cry with the sadness and tenderness involved.
Into my favourites it goes.

A very poignant moment, when love lost tugs at the heart. Good job, Peter. This is very moving. ML
