As you lie there in pain hurting as you are.
Our hearts go out to you, whether we are near or far.
No matter what our differnces have been until this day.
We get down on our knees, every night and pray.
Asking God to ease your pain, and to hold your hand.
No matter where you go,  no matter where you land.

Your life is oh so precious we love you Mom we do.
We know that there are times that you think this is not true.
But whether we have talked, or if we see each other.
It will never change the fact that we love you our dear mother!

Your time is growing short, as your life it slips away.
So I am asking God to guide you each and everyday.
To let you go on, where pain you'll feel no more.
And paradisse you'll find as you enter through that door.

Mom, you taught us all, that God had intended to.
Be shown upon your children so they know what to do.
Lessons in life you have tried to teach us all.
Some of us may stand and some of us may fall.
We were given you  to love us now and forever.
The greatest plan from God, was You, and it was clever.

So mom go walk that path, that brings you to your love .
And be with Dad and God, in Heaven up above.
Don't fight this anymore, just close your eyes and go.
For this is what is best, for this we know is so.

We'll say our goodbyes now, please know we all love you.
We'll miss you even more, but mom this you must do.
We'll hold your hand, as you leave us here today.
To go to a better place, and be with God to stay.

Mom we'll be ok, we want whats best for you .
Your tired and your weak, for this we know is true.
Your always in our hearts, but this you know is best.
We love you mom, now please, go with God and rest!!
Author's Notes:
I wrote this poem for my mother to help her to move on to her new journey. She was holding on and won't let go. Probably the hardest poem I have ever written. Was read to her as she passed.. Was the hardest thing I have ever had to do.

Congratulations, Cathy. So glad you got this. I understand your feelings. I was in your shoes a year ago. Not an enviable position. A loving tribute to a good woman. ML

Cathy, I can't tell you just how much this poem touches my heart.
The tears just won't stop flowing. I am caring for my elderly mom
and I see her slipping further away each day. Your poem is so
moving and so very deserving of the award. Congratulations on
a job well done.

It's hard to put into words what I'm feeling right now.  Just know your words left an impact.

I am here at this place. At this moment my mother lays dying, between two worlds. This is beautiful Cathy, it expresses all that I feel.

Cathy, most of your poem brought a tear to my eyes. I feel so much emotions and the flow of your pen writing this poem is so AMAZING...I truly admire the strenght, the courage you put to come out with this great poem. I'm very sure that your mother is very proud of you as I am and many others proud of you....
May her soul rest in peace...
Cathy, my prayer will be always with you...

My loving hugs for you,

Your friend,

A really excellent final expression of love. These loving words must have been a comfort to both of you. I can't imagine how hard it would have been to collect these words but you did it so, so well, and a fitting tribute they now are. The emotion builds and brings tears to the eyes, even still.

I could feel the strength of feeling and repressed (till then) emotions spilling out.
Such a heart rending poem Cathy.

I admire the strength it takes to say those words. While I know the wisdom of releasing the bond and allowing our loved ones to make their journey with a lighter heart, I still want to hold on. It's a good thing to be strong enough to let go. God bless you. ML

Catherine, this one brought a tear to my eyes. I can't imagine ever having the strength to tell the one I depend on so much to go, for her own sake. In my heart, I may know it should be done, but I don't know that I could ever do it. What courage you have!
