By James L Lagoski

I wake up in the morning and rise from my bed
My minds not awake so Iím like the living dead
I walk into the kitchen for a cup of motivation
Going back to sleep is becoming a temptation

That is not an option so I begin to get dressed
Because I have a job they say that I am blessed
Then a sinking feeling starts to envelop my heart
When I turned the key and my car wouldnít start

So I grabbed some change and run out the door
Because the boss said I canít be late anymore
I run down the street just as quickly as I can
And still missed the bus even though I ran

I stick out my thumb and pray for a ride
When I notice a car and a truck collide
Approaching the accident fast as I could
Just as any person in their right mind should

Searching for survivors in the middle of the wreck
When I noticed something that I did not expect
The face in the car was my boss from work
The same guy who is always calling me a jerk

I got him out of the car and now heís doing ok
And he thanks me almost every single day
So no matter how bad things seem to be
We never know whatís written in our destiny

Author's Notes:

The thing I liked about this write was that you can place yourself
on either side of this poem- You could be the boss who never knows
or the person that doesn't realize just how important your place in life
could be in someone elses life-

Report Offensive Poem.

That car wouldn't start for a reason, it would seem. Nothing is by chance. Very, VERY thought provoking...
Next time I feel frustrated because it seems that every thing is going wrong, I will stop to see what it is that I am being delayed for.
Great job, once more, James!
