Dying for Freedom's Song

The rains of war fall on down,

Our armies state their claim.

Millions of men standing tall,

Fighting to remove all shame.

The shame of prides we gave away,

To powers that rule us all.

But nothing will hold us back,

No matter how many shall fall.

With spears held high, men ready,

We run into fight for our right.

Freedom is all we want, so give!

Or we shall forever fight!

Clashing rings, as honored heads,

Fall to the blood-soaked land.

Fighting for what is only ours,

Our right for being a man.

An arrow struck my bloody chest,

Bursting through tinted rind!

Tearing away my fighting hope,

Deathly pain took over my mind!

Decaying on this battleground,

Of pure hate and fleeting gore.

My battle may have been lost,

But freedom will win the war!

For nothing can hold us down,

The power of the people strong.

Soon the war will reach its end,

And we shall sing freedom's song!

Jason- This is impressive, You have captured in this work, the sense of selfless sacrifice displayed by our
men and women in uniform, that is so often taken for
granted (even derided)by a callous nation. Thankyou.

Freedom~~(sigh) The glorious freedom that we sometimes take for granted, sadly~ You have done very well with the strength within this piece, Jason~ It is filled with hues of the red, white and the blue.....Nice thoughts, my poetic friend.....
