Early Morning Call

The sky was an opaque blue,

with small pink clouds dancing through.

The tops of the trees,

turned to a brilliant green,

as the rising sun reached them,

with its golden sheen.

A cock pheasant was sending out,

his early morning call,

thrushes and black birds were singing,

at the wonder of it all.

Nature is such a wonderous thing,

it makes my heart so glad,

and I just want to sing.

Author's Notes:
Here in New Zealand it is early summer. This poem came to me this early morning as I was walking the dog, out in the bush clad hills.
