Ashes of Evil

Ashes of evil,
horrors hanging higher, hours of hell.

Devils shoved searing shawls
muffling moments of innocence.
Did day not wake smiling
with birds singing,
faces smiling, laughing,
distant shores beseeching,
drawing kind hoping hearts?

Who drew angry knives
across the neck of day?
Who put flamy daggers
in the heart of day?
Who slew beads, moments of loving
Who aborted the sun
and provoked this still birth of light?

Even birds fear that sky.
There are tears on each grass, flower.
