Unwelcome Stranger
He stalks the corridors of her heart;
Waiting silently
Until he finds a soft, dark hole
Then takes it violently.

She keeps telling herself to be strong,
But then he comes again;
Moving quickly through her mind,
Whispering of sin.

He tells her all the things he'd giver her
If she'd only follow.
He reaches out to offer her his hand.
His eyes are hollow.

And the always finds herself being taken
To this place of mass frustration.
Then he holds her in his grasp of steel;
Whispering of temptation.
Author's Notes:
1990 This originally started as a poem about a boyfriend that had an uncanny way of getting back together with me. Somewhere in the writing, though, I think it turned much darker. Sort of a poem about how weak I was at the time.
