Alone   The night was cold and dark I was alone I could hear footsteps fast approaching Without looking around, I maintained my momentum I continued along the path I could hear the footsteps getting closer, closer, closer I turned around quickly and released a sigh of relief It was only you. "My dear friend, you startled me,í I said "Donít be sneaking up on me,Ē I uttered. The friend laughed I laughed We laughed Then suddenly as friend appeared, Friendís countenance changed With a flash, a knife was drawn And out of the blue it descended First to my neck Then my heart And as I raised my hand to prevent more blows The knife descended yet again, several times Everything happened so quickly I searched in the darkness to obtain a glimpse of your eyes I saw a hollow with a flickering flame I gasped though unafraid For suddenly there was nothingness.
