Destiny
I remember, upon a day,
Ceiling staring, from the bed I lay.
What’s in store for little me?
Grand plans, in stars I see.
Magic beans, or carpet ride,
Genie bottles, and rainbow sky.
What fate awaits for me?
Whose destiny will it be?
Oh what thoughts for a little
boy,
Who dreams beyond a simple toy.
Who’s magic of imagination,
Is running with no Hesitation.
Out of nowhere from a mirror
stand,
A grown-up boy stands at command
"Slow down my little son”,
"Learn to walk before you run”.
"Plenty of time to run a
race”,
"Pace yourself with stamina and grace”.
"Enjoy the scenery, embrace the ride”,
"Resist the temptations you feel inside”.
Sitting Up for a clearly
view,
Reflection shows a face I knew.
Tasseled hair and freckled smile,
"I guess I’ll stay here for a while”.
