I once were like you:
-A syndicate of clones; a slave to the government
I used to think you couldn't break the impossible
-That rules were set in stone
Obeying a contract we signed at birth
I once followed suit; afraid to step out of line
So I kept my mouth shut.
Surely I'm not the only one who sees through their lies?
Frustrated by their constant demands
and sheltered from living without choices
How can you breathe under someone's shadow
-and not feel worthless?
I stand out from the crowd
You all turn to look at me like I'm the crazy one.
But I am telling you this:
If we all recognised the lies and manipulation
And realise just who leads us.
MPs full of greed; out to get their hands on anything free
Prime Ministers needing figures for their popularity status
-Not really caring who's in the firing line
Presidents full of power, yet aways failing to impress us when we need them the most.
Realistically we rely on people we cannot trust,
who are out to get their own needs
deserting the ones who are crying for help.
Soldiers dying by the lack of equipment,
whilst their families search for justice.
Abused kids are being silenced by the upper hand
until it is too late, and its only grief and lame excuses
Africans are STILL dying by the lack of medicine
and, homeless people, including Veterans, are being ignored;
their eyes speaking of desperation.
And then we have the bedroom tax.
Ha, what a joke that is!
how do we stand up to power,
who are we to stand up to what we believe in?
When all we are at the end of the day, is a clone keeping this world together!
