A Place
There is a childhood stream
in my memory that flows,
around giggling rocks
and the soft grass of repose,

it meanders through
the clear waters of my mind,
a private place
where the sun always shines,

and as the world around me
becomes eroded with decay,
I find myself there more often
hoping I will forever stay.
