LET ME RAIN

LET ME RAIN

When you close your eyes

and finally fall asleep,

tears that ran down your cheek,

you are now able to keep.

Your love comes to you in your dreams,

it is oh so real, or so it seems.

The feel of their skin,

the sound of their breath,

you feel whole again,

as if they never left.

You walk along the beach,

you feel your toes in the sand,

you feel comfort and security,

just by holding their hand.

Although it is a dream and it will not last,

you want it to carry on and not go so fast.

You realize that when you awaken,

emptiness will bring on the pain.

The only way to handle the tears,

is to once again let me rain…

Lenny-  This poem demonstrates a deep feeling of emotion,  I know at the times that my wife was away, mostly for medical reasons,  I felt some of the feelings that this poem expresses, concern for her and the overwhelming sense of loneliness that her absence allowed.   poignant work my friend.
