Sun Kissed
as the sun kissed the horizon, the sky complimented your name so perfectly,
I stand here before your eyes and

say...

I would be lying if I told you that I never thought about dying, before,
the desire to end the hurt, and it only gets worse when you immerse yourself in the hell that was caused,
I held on as I saw you spin out of control,
from misdirected anger, you tore through this house
as you tried to tear through yourself, skin and bones, I was there and I was scared
but I wouldn't let you sit alone,
on bloody floors still lovely even more,

my dear....

I held you in that moment not to control you but hopefully console you,
I remember I told you,
this is more then head over heels this is someone being real,
this is something that we feel or fear maybe its both?
its crazy I know, its crazy to know we share similar symptoms,
we bottle it up because we refuse to take pills,
if depression was a drug we suppress it til we're numb,
we've pressed metal against our skin to try settle the storm within,
I guess we we're both born to be damaged, war-torn so we salvage the sadness,
we share stories of when it got too hard to hold on,
you harmonized about the scars on your arms and your thighs,
self harm from the times you've wanted to die,
I've watched as you cried from emerald eyes your tears ran crystal clear,
and I told you about the time I was unstable and staples had to hold my surface together,
you asked whats the purpose if we never feel better?

so I quoted Robin Williams
But poetry, beauty, romance, love, these are what we stay alive for.

and deservingly so you are worth way more then you know,
perfectly the sun kissed your skin, covered in scars I discovered your heart,
the beauty within, an atlas just to match this compass of mine
or better yet an abundance of stars I would spend many moons,
just to connect the dots as if your beauty marks were constellations in the sky,
just to watch you illuminate the cracks in your foundation,
I found strength in your frustration because when its seems like you were falling apart,
you were just falling in place, so I followed your grace to the edge of your destruction,
and found beauty in your reconstruction.

Author's Notes:
its about my friend who suffers from depression and when she gets really bad she breaks things and always tries to hurt herself.
