When I grow older..
When I grow older I shall stand firmly with a wicked grin on my face, a glint in my eye, makeup just so, and face the world in all my glory. I shall place upon my silver head, a simple flower, red I think! I shall wear a dress of blue, shoes with strappy heals, and dance the night away! I shall laugh gaily. Smile like there is no tomorrow. To hell with the sorrows of the yesterdays! Of all that once pained me, following like a lap dog, whimpering shall we say, for I no longer care to hear! The sun shall be brighter! The nights longer, stars gleaming like diamonds upon fingers with red paint. Music shall sound out, sweet and oh so soothing to the ear. And I shall twirl with the wind, hands out, as I embrace the joys of freedom. I shall speak with love. Share the kiss of romance, oh so sweet, upon my lips of ruby red.. Tap dancing in my heart of once upon a time youth, That shall forever remain. Yes. When I grow older....

MOONIE!!! How great to see you writing again, this piece shows that you know how to get right back on the horse and ride. Leave all the cares of past yesterdays whe they belong, in the past. Hugs,   Henry

Oh this is just fabulous!  Makes us all want to celebrate the inevitability of growing older.  You've helped us with the "growing" part...yes, becoming our best. Maybe that's why that time is referred to as our "golden years".  Learning how to live life to the fullest, facing each day with pure positivity, embracing the joys of freedom, and Yes!  I can picture you...well me too..."tap dancing with a heart of once upon a time youth".

I cant quite imagine you with silver hair but I know when the time comes...you will wear it beautifully!

Lovely writing. I hope to see more from you.   Linda Jo
