Beneath the stars

as I peered into the universe I saw a footprint on the moon,
I noticed my reflexion staring back at me,
a damaged vessel,
something that couldn't be reassembled, something that
resembled the devil,
so I hid my scars behind deep conversations about the stars,
I am afraid to tell you about the complications in my heart,
so I murmured, we should admire the constellations from a far,
In that exact moment, beneath the sky we see one fall,
I suggested a wish, to call upon the gods, the galaxies,
I looked at you and gave you a second of silence
to align your thoughts with time and space,
and in my mind I wish there was a place promised for us,
but I am just a stranger with a crush,
I mean I guess I'm just a stranger who was crushed
by the weight of this earth so the weight of these butterflies
became too much, they flew to close to the flames
and sunk in the waves that touched the shore beneath us,
I am sure these feelings won't reach us, it won't be mutual,
because what you wished for is not what I wished upon, we saw the same star
but we fell different, as I listen to your voice it beckons for the wreck in me
to reflect and see maybe its not make belief, maybe you were made for me,
maybe its just crazy to think we could be soul mates because we share a similar footprint on the moon
on the dark side, my heart sides with the fact that it couldn't be true,
so I fight with the heavens to revel in the clouds that now tower over us,
maybe you were meant to cleanse my soul,
because your middle name resembles the drops that now shower over us,
we can no longer see the universe, so we converse about,
love, laughter and friendship, and as this hour comes to an end
please tell me what comes after this because if I was to tell you how I felt
it would be disastrous so I keep that storm to myself and ignore how I felt
on that night we laid together with the shores and the waves.
