Hurricane
i hear the wind whistling shrill between the cracks
i feel the pockmarks like grand canyons on my feet
cold water flowing as if craters into lakes
and a streak of lightning dances wildly

i'm in a sea of words, gregarious and lame
they pierce my ears like icy hailstones of shame
they melt so solemnly as i drift along
and your hand is sinking even lower

wretched memories
cast the mutilated speyside aside
wretched memories
look alive, even though you just died

and as i stand before this wild atmosphere
i just can't help but wonder why i am here
when i could recoil to my cavern of peace
but you make it all too enticing

wretched memories
cast the mutilated speyside aside
wretched memories
look alive, even though you just died

The pain of loss can hit hard when it is a loved one who is lost.
