Tripwire

You seem to fascinate me
More than the herd
Still I hear it resonating
Ringing absurd

I tripped the wire
Flash and fall again
I tripped the wire
Long awaited friend

I should know better by now
Smile, come then go
Now the grip is suffocating
Watch out below

I tripped the wire
Flash and swipe the glass
I tripped the wire
Just ignore the crass

No one ever sees it coming
Nauseated, feel like running
But the living proof is on a wire

Alas, the hand of hankering
Slaps me around
I can hear the temblor growing
Much further down

I tripped the wire
Flash and see the end
I tripped the wire
Long awaited friend

Salivating intuition
Chicanery or grand fruition?
Bitten once, I've been but one time shy

I tripped the wire
