A Little Longer
I remember the first day I saw you
Out at this party I never thought you knew
The way I was staring you picked me out a mile away
Then I carried you into the sunset, to better days

I came right on over to and talked to you
My heart beating so fast my face was turning blue
Then I held you in my arms for the first time
I shook so bad I thought I was going to die

It's a shame I had to say goodbye
Now that I'm alone I just want to cry

I wish I held her a little bit longer
Now all that's left is somber
I can't seem to forget the day
When I let her get away

Now all I have is regret
I played with my heart and lost the bet
I wish I held her a little bit longer
Now that she is gone I wish I was stronger
I wish I held her a little bit longer

We went out for a first date
Until now I realized it was a mistake
I never intended to stay for awhile
But then you cracked a smile

I fell for you when I knew I had to leave
You saw I wore my heart out on my sleeve
I wish I held on to you a little bit longer
Being with you was such an honor

Now all I have to say is
I hope you are off to have better days

I wish I held her a little bit longer
Now all that's left is somber
I can't seem to forget the day
When I let her get away

Now all I have is regret
I played with my heart and lost the bet
I wish I held her a little bit longer
Now that she is gone I wish I was stronger
I wish I held her a little bit longer

I could see it in your eyes
You fell for me I was so happy I could die
We swore we'd never let go
But baby I have to get on with the show

I wish I held on just a little bit longer
Because I am starting to forget the way you smell
The way you taste, the way you made my heart ring like a bell
I wish I held on a little bit longer

I wish I held her a little bit longer
Now all that's left is somber
I can't seem to forget the day
When I let her get away

Now all I have is regret
I played with my heart and lost the bet
I wish I held her a little bit longer
Now that she is gone I wish I was stronger
I wish I held her a little bit longer

Now I hear you found somebody new
I have found somebody too
But it doesn't take away the pain
The memories of us still flash in my brain

I miss you and I have so much regret
That beautiful blonde hair I could never forget
Now I just wish I held on a little bit longer
What would have happened if I stayed, that's what I ponder

I wish I held her a little bit longer
Now all that's left is somber
I can't seem to forget the day
When I let her get away

Now all I have is regret
I played with my heart and lost the bet
I wish I held her a little bit longer
Now that she is gone I wish I was stronger
I wish I held her a little bit longer
