So here we go again,
I'm right back where I first ran from
Everything is the same
The old wars
Relationships strained and twisted out of fashion
Flowers that once bloomed are faded.
I had a taste of freedom and it felt so beautiful
Honed me, strengthened me
Brought out the best in me.
Back to the bitterness in the winter
Parents trying to score, back and forth
Am I the only one with eyes?
With the strong foresight born out of hindsight?
Life is so fragile, too short to dwell on the past
Lay down your weapons, your harsh words
And if you can't be civil at least be silent.
Spring sprung on me so long ago now
Made me healthier, happier, more peaceful.
I can dance in the warm summer rain
Appreciate the autumn colours of life.
I can smile.
Here I am again
Right back at the place I first ran from
Holding my breath this time
That winter will turn into spring. |
