""The Battle hymn of the Poet""

I will walk softly amongst the king and his queens.
With pauper words to express last night’s dreams.

For the grapes of wrath bring only depression.
Should we put our faith in material possession?

I would rather glean words from Shakespeare’s skills.
And the sunset rose essence for me is when life fulfills.

For the heat of the moment can harden our clay.
While the warmth of love can melt the wax away.

Who can guarantee us to savor living another day?
My expense account is to embrace love to the max.

Do the rich really get richer like were told?
My heart is wide open to share with a soul.

No need to ever draw a line in the sand.
Let lines come to be with a pen in hand.

Author's Notes:

Pain is covered up by layers of disbelief in some people. It can hide so deep down within us at times. Except for God who can we trust at times?  Human desire and it's suffering are reserved only for this present world.

Boy do I ever agree with the tenants in this poem, When we "shuffle of this mortal coil", we will be, as we came:

dusty and dependent; We brought nothing in, We take nothing out; Only what God gives lasts.      Bruce

I think the rich lust to get richer lust like a junkie uses more and more drugs  in able to experience the rush of his or her's first high. There is never enough money to bring back that heady feeling, but like all addicts, they must try....len
