TGIH-Thank God It's Halloween

Note-wrote this just this morning. Hope you all enjoy.

And so it's here

Our favorite creepy time of the year

When all us ghosts and goblins can roam free

No hiding

No lying

We can be

Just be

Who we truely are

For one very special day

The things that go bump in the night

Can go bump in the day too

No fear

No looking over our shoulders

For ghost hunters and angry mobs

For 24

We can walk

The dead among the living

No one even suspecting

Today the night creatures

Share their light

As well as their dark

We can be monsters aplently

Feasting

Partying

Drinking in the simple freedom

So many of the mortal kind

Take all often for granted

We can

For a little while at least

Reunite with lost loved ones

And pretend for a short time

As if the grave

Did't change a thing at all

TGIF

We say

Once a year

Every year

Thank God it's Halloween!

Our haunted paradise

Our playground of return

And such fools these mortals be

Still to this day

After so many centurys of doing

The monster mash

They still suspect

Not a thing

As once again

This screaming, grossing holidays

Like whispers heard once

Then never again

On the wind

We live again

Among them

I never thought of it like that, but if there were such things as ghost and goblins it would be the perfect night for them to blend in. :-)

Great write for the ghoulish holiday!

I enjoyed this. Too bad the ghouls and monsters have to wait all year just to roam free for a day. :-)
