I adopted a dog and named her after my mother.
Agnes is her new name and I sure do love her.
I fell in love with Agnes as soon as I met her.
I've been unhappy because of my parents deaths but now I feel a little better.
I can tell that she's had puppies because of her long teats.
Agnes is the most special dog that anybody could meet.
She is sweet and beautiful with dark brown fur.
She's my Chihuahua and I'll always take care of her.
Author's Notes:
Dedicated to Agnes, my Chihuahua dog.

My mother and I have had Chihuahuas for many years. When Mama died, I naturally inherited her little girl. She's the only one I've had who cried tears. They are such a special breed. I often wonder how much they think and what their thinking looks like for they seem to know what's in my mind at all times. You couldn't have chosen a more caring companion. This is a fine tribute. I wish you and Agnes many years of joyful togetherness. ML

Randy, I am so glad that the little Chihuahua you named after your mother Agnes is bringing you some comfort

after the loss of you parents. Dogs are very special creatures I think. They give love unconditionally and ask so

little in return. I enjoyed your poem.

Hi Randy; lovely write.  My parents had a Chihuahua named Bitsy and after they both went to Heaven,of course, she came to live with my family.  She was used to us as we  had lived with my Dad his last 3 years.
