No Soul of My Soul

Rewrite of Michael Bolton's Soul of My Soul

We should've been strangers

We've should've been worlds apart

At all times

And I know this maybe at first

Hard for a kid your age to accept

Gonna be a lot of things about your old man

You'll never understand

Declaring father and son

Blind to each other

Don't want you

You don't want me

Bondin' goin' nowhere

Something long ago, boy

Your mama should have let you know

God why did't she ever let you know

Son, you're no soul of my soul

Heart of my heart

The buried treasure of your life is this

You're not who you think you are

No soul of my soul

No child I could hold to my heart

I can never love you

So giving you the freedom of what I know

Boy, you're no soul of my soul

Into this cruel world

We let you come

Never knowing till now

I was't the one

She let into her open

And the worst mistake

Biggest regret I have in life

Is that so long it was kept from you

Every road from now on that you take

Your every living day

Rest knowing

Somewhere out there is he

Who is

Who is

The soul of your soul

No soul of my soul

Your heart breakin' my heart

To that other man

I'm sure some kind of miracle you are

But not to me

Oh no blood of my blood

No light in my life

God why did we wait so long

To let you know

No soul of my soul

I am not familiar witht the music of Michael Bolton so I don't know how tp compare your lyrics to his.

Your version is very sad for the child who is being told his wholw life has been a lie.
