Going on
Age creeps in to remind us of just how fragile our existence is
Sometimes the reminders are gentle nudges
An ache here, a bruise there
Every so often though, we get the big blow
The one that tells us we're all human and life hangs by the thinnest thread
To those of you who have experienced these reminders
I salute you all and hope to see you all battle through and go on
Medicine, while ever advancing and increasing life expectancies
Has nothing on the human spirit, the will to live another day, another moment
Author's Notes:
For Glata, get better so we can see your smiling face and read your writings for many years to come!

Mortality is not for the young. The young cannot concieve of death. The older you get, the more you are forced to admit the end is more near than the beginning. It is the problem to be faced by all things born into the world...Len

Beautiful poem and great tribute to your friend, but Glata is a gorgeous 22 year old who keeps trying to tell me she has grown kids, my proof just look at her photo, not a day over 22!   I wish her a fast healing, I am sure it will be at her young age.  Katie  :)
