a poem to my new first grandson, Lucas
6 March 2013

I hold an angel close to me --
His head upon my arm --
Pretending I protection be --
Him keeping free from harm.

But as we are -- I see there is
No safety in this room --
Compared to comfort once was his --
Inside dear mother's womb.

My eyes misted as I read this David.

You and your family are truly blessed,

This is so loving and tender... I love it, and Lucas will too when he is old enough to understand.

The first 'home' in life is always the best - nothing to do but feel the love embrace you completely for 9 months. :o)

A wonderful tribute to be sure

to a little prince from God

his heart and love, sweet and pure

hewn from our Father's mighty rod

And as time passes and he grows

to learn all the wondrous things

one thing that he already knows

is the love for him his family brings!

God Bless you, little Lucas!

A beautiful first poem to Lucas. I'm sure you'll read it to him. He don't realize how inspiring he is yet!! Amen!, Bri

I'll tell you a true story David. It is about me and my son _my first child_ and I've told this to few people with whom I have intellectual exchanges. We like to talk and ask big questions and discuss about life, its origin and eternity, etc... You know what I felt when my son just walked in front of me for the first time?  I felt that I became eternal and all my questions were answered! Now I think you having passed that stage years ago and way before me, with arrival of Lucas to your beloved family, and you being a grandpa for the first time, I think this is the stage when we get the first affirmation about eternity... Wish you live to see your great grandchild, and what a wonderful feeling will that bring with its arrival. Congratulations again, and of course, all this with Susan in mind as well, ~Dean
