Arrange your face into something suitable

An anger less expression

- hide furious intentions

Or a glassy eyed nothingness upon a pasty complexion.

They need that to placate them

A tidy life, quiet, absent of drama

So situations do not provoke rage.

Be good, be wrong

It would never do to contradict them

Go along with the game they play, be the fool

Be careful, be bad

They then have an excuse to notice you

To assess, belittle and overpower you

With their lies, all lies

You become so pretty to them

Wearing tears and scowls, so little

You are their design

A controlled drug, they'll never have enough of you

You know, you know everything about their game

So play along

Arrange your face into

Something suitable.

I don't know what your intent was with this powerful poem but it reads to me like a child or teenager

is rebelling against parents that expect the child to be perfect and never expess feelings such

as anger, hurt feelings, disappointment, etc. I may be way off, but either way I enjoyed the poem.

The masks we have to wear to get through life; sad but true.
