Where Will I Turn
Where will I turn
If the soul must wander
North to where fields of snow are made
South to where the deserts bloom
East towards the bright Sun's dawning
West towards the roads of night

Where will I turn
If these winds make war
North where howls a breath of ice
South blistered with a desert's glare
East with the promise of rain
West with the coming Gales

Where will I turn
If the drums of war are heard
North to the frozen crystal wastes
South to the balmy beach heads
East to the Lands of sunrise
West to the mountains of dark

Where will I turn
If the Flag of Peace flies high
North to the dancing Polar lights
South to the Trade Wind waters
East to the tempered Steppes
West to the Great Plains grasses

Where will I turn
If my eyes at last grow dim
North to the gleaming reach of white
South to see the Desert Rose
East to watch an Eagle fly
West to catch the evening Star

Where will I turn
if the world should need me
North to save the last white bear
South to catch an Albatross
East to plant a mountain vine
West to grow a Redwood Tree

And where will I turn.....
if there are no choices left

Thomas... I just had to read some more of your poems.. so many so great to read. I do hope you get a book of your poems.. If you ever do I want one with your signature. This one is truly one of my favorites. It should be the first page in your book

Always ~She Whispers

This has a native american spirit feel. Its beautiful and intriguing and I suspect that your wondering soul would just go where the wind blew it . and still find that question lingering. that is the beauty and the curse of wonderers. Always maggie.

Great work Thomas. There will always be a choice, bound to be one, unless is time to go and leave everything behind... ~Dean
