The Fighting Irish

Itís been five years since I saw that famous smile

And I know it hasnít been very easy

I know itís random but care to stay awhile?

Still when I think about you my stomach gets queasy

There are times when I forgot who I really was

There are times I cry myself to sleep

I know you had a just cause

But watching you walk away made me weep

I know that you deserve so much better than me

And I just wanted to say I was sorry

My love for you leaves me tearfully

Just look up at the starry sky

Youíre eyes are so beautiful

That smile so divine

Those colors gleam so colorfully

That pearly white smile was such a shine

Itís such a shame we had to part

When you left me I went back to the start

Pain entrapped my lonely heart

You threw the sharpest dart

I know that you deserve so much better than me

And I just wanted to say I was sorry

My love for you leaves me tearfully

Just look up at the starry sky

I just want you to know that Iím doing better

I am getting strong again without you

I still have all your letters

The clouds are moving and the stars once again shine

But I just wanted to let you know

That I will always love you

I will always be there

Just know that someone on this earth loves you

So goodbye baby itís been so much fun

Itís such a shame we ran out of time

I promise you that youíll always be on my mind

I know that you deserve so much better than me

And I just wanted to say I was sorry

My love for you leaves me tearfully

Just look up at the starry sky
