Living Equals Loving and Dying

Once held to the warmth

of your breast.

The beating drum played out

 in the chest.

Letting go as it was curtains

time to rest.

Author's Notes:
I once held someone dear on Christmas morning as she became comfortably numb in my arms.
Even in her death I remembered a life so well lived.

Sad, but a blessing for that person to have you there. A blessing for you as well, as I'm sure you would have wanted to be with her. What you wrote is beautiful Dan. Merry Christmas, Be well! Brian.

Hey Dan, A sad poem for sure.  But good that the person was in your arms.  A merry Christmas and a Happy New Year to you and yours --David
