No Breakfast Wait The Hungry Soul

No breakfast wait the hungry soul
Nor bread to satisfy
And neither warm him weary coal
But freeze his fearful eye

As look upon the world of man;
His hope become despair
What chance that love forever can
Fortify anywhere

Firestone, You are very good at saying so much with so few words. I felt your poem on a gut level. Powerful, Well done! Brian.

Interesting emotions expressed!! Man is his worse enemy..

A death wish trying to always be in control!!

 Man will destroy himself with his stubborn Pride and craving to master all things..

We pretend that we are somehow moire than mere animals. I sometimes think most animals are above us on the evolutionary journey..Only man and chimps make war on rival tribes. WE have greatness in us, but we have a death wish as well...len
