Enhanced Interrogation.

Enhanced Interrogation.

I watched Fox news today Oh boy
About Bin Laden being killed
Somehow their gloating made me sad
Seeing hearts with such hatred filled.

And how they praised the tactics used
Enhanced interrogation was the term
How torture revealed his hiding place
Will people never ever learn?

"The means justifies the end” they said
But it would seem I am alone
In thinking torture is never right
But turns our own hearts into stone.

Yes he was an awful man
Yes we want our loved ones back
Yes justice must be done
He must atone for that attack.

But what defines a nation?
What makes good old "Uncle Sam?”
Freedom, justice and fair play
The rule of law, the rights of man.

Better that scum should remain free
Than drag a nation down
Upholding moral principles
Is the jewel in the crown.

I felt exactly the same when I watched the news on other channels as well. I agree, he was a horrible man and what he did he deserves to burn forever, but killing him and celebrating a person's death, not matter what he did, lack humanity.
Very good write, and I fully understand this

As a child I was taught that two wrongs NEVER make a right. Mayhap the world should take a lesson at my Opa's feet. Well written Bill and you have the right of it.

Fox Noise, eh?...They make up their own reality to report on..I was proud of Obama when he excluded Fox from his press conferences, saying they weren't a news organization.

About, "enhanced in-terror-gation".....America hanged the war criminals of WW2 for waterboarding. If torture was a war crime then, it's a war crime now..Some aspects of my country are unrecognisable to me. The first to be tried for war crimes id Dick Cheney, who made torture a part of American policy. Many more should be tried and convicted as well..It's sickening!!!...len
