"Moved On"
The vows we took meant nothing to you
The vows we took
Didn't seem to apply to you
I stuck with you until the end
Cheated on me twice
Ran off with another man
Played my heart like an accordion
Treated me like a toy
Pick me up
Throw me a side
I meant nothing to you
After all this time of being together
This is what it came down to.
Offered you so many chances
To try and piece things together
you picked him over me every time
You moved on with your life
I moved on with my life
Found someone else
Now you want to work things out
Now that I'm happy with somebody else
Know for a fact
You still wouldn't give him up
Don't want to be with me
But don't want me to be with anyone else
How does it feel?
To have someone picked over you
To be told no to
After being spoiled so long
Think I would have let you back in
We have been through a lot
But I have moved on

Author's Notes:
About my soon to be ex wife.  I think they cheated on me more times then she has told me about.

This is an older post and I'm sure the situation is well behind you now. This poem reads like you are talking right to her. Sorry for the heartache and pain that inspired this poem. I hope things are much better now. Writing about it always helps.

Felt your pain :( Hope that this gave part closure to what seems to of been a bad time. Sure hit home like Linda said how cheating, betrayal and dumping of any kind hurts deeper than skin deep. Best wishes and well done for sharing the pain and moving on.

I enjoyed this poem very much and it sure hit home for me.

I am very happily married now, but right out of high school I married a man that sounds just like your soon to be ex.

He cheated over and over only to come back crying and begging forgiveness. I was foolish to put up with that for over seven years.

I learned that the leopard seldom changes his spots. I found that to completly shut him out was the only way to move on.

Trust me, there are better things waiting for you in life. I hope your new lady is the right one and brings you happiness.

Linda

I am sorry, she did you wrong.  Everyone's right it won't last and yes look forward not back.  I do hope and pray you don't close off your heart, because you will love again and it will be as it should be with a true companion, someone who will treasure sharing the journey of life with you.

Sad poem

If it's never been 100% in the past.

There is no way her love will ever last.

Don't look back.

I think you have just about covered it all no, hard decisions here she isn't and wasn't worth your efforts,at the end of the day you have a life to live so live it not waste it, which with her you would be doing, well thats enough of my opinions on the subject as to the writing well set out meaningful and emotional keep it up its good therapy for purging the soul after someone has tainted it

Many,  many years ago my sister-in-law's husband started cheating on her.  She left him, he asked forgiveness, so she took him back .  She repeated this quite a few times over the next 28 years.  She loved him.  The last time, was ... the ... last time.  He left her 2000 miles from her home.  This time it wasn't there to forgive him.  She was done.  I believe you have made the correct decision even if it does hurt.  She had gotten him when he cheated on his wife with her.  He never changed.  For some reason, it seems that cheating is in their blood.  Very seldom does a cheater ever change.  Now that you have found another love, there would be no going back (if I were you) no matter the temptation.
Stick to your guns guy.  Enough is enough.

Gene

By the way, she still loves him.  She just won't be married to him any more.  She too has moved on to a better man.

It doesnt make it easier, but in the end of the day you have to start looking after your own heart.
Good write, full of a lot of raw emotion, needed to come out

Good decision, obviously.  Keep away from the about-to-be-ex.   Have a great life with your new lady.
