I know a girl a girl in this world,
She is frozen.
She can't feel anything at all
She feels so small, so fragile
A mere shadow on this earth where her footsteps leave no trace.
Barely breathing, almost not living.
This girl never sheds a tear, never flinches
And as the raindrops pound the glass, she laughs.
The sun will never shine in her sky,
She knows, as she curls up in a tight ball in the corner.
This world was not for her, she'll never really belong.
And she smiles, this life has made her so wild
Her heart wants to shield her from thoughts in her head
There's nothing that can be done, nothing that can be said
As the full moon rises before her eyes, her voice lies
Emits cries that startle the stars as they fall from the sky
She mourns all the time, the loss of purity, liberty
Thinking on when the darkness found her, would not let go
How it harmed her, suffocated her, drove her mad
Imperfect, yet flawless she sinks to the ground, face down
Arms spread as though just like an angel
Legs crooked at the knee,
Eyes screwed tight shut
As she opens her lungs and screams...
