I sat down alone with paper and pen.
And wonder when this would finally end.

The stillness of night weighs down the hand.
Time vanishes within a parcel of  land.

Rolling the red carpet out to you.
To retrieve all the words of blue.

To stir.

To create.

To awake.

To sensate.

To live.

To love.

To free a heart.

Author's Notes:
Where will all my secrets finally be?
If I stop to give everyone here a peek.

I can so relate. For me, poetry is opening your soul, but those who look in, see different sides of your secrets.

A little to esoteric for this hack, Dan...Seems like it's about summoning poetic inspiration, but I won't pretend to understand what I don't...Yer pal, len

...favorite line, "rolling the red carpet out to you".  this piece certainly speaks about you.  you are a compassionate soul...a true giver.

I really like the way your poem takes shape.  it is a lamp...symbolically giving free a heart.   nice job, Dan!

Mmmmm.... I think you have spoke out loud and clear....

As poets sometimes we struggle with our emotions trying to find the words to express our emotions..

I always enjoy your creative mind...When you write you don't hold anything back... *****

Your loyal fan....... Love ya! ~India
