Annie
I once knew a girl
Who was lost in a cold world
Life put a baton in her hand and she began to twirl
Her hair all nice and curled

She went to college up north
Where it snows and if you listen you can hear the wind hark
Always setting her best foot forth
If you listen to her sometimes you will hear her bark

Oh Annie why can't you see
The whole world spins for you
Like the yellow of a bee
Success is where you should be

Stay away from the beer
Stay away from the party
It will just give you fear
It will make you tarty

I once knew a girl
Who was lost in a cold world
Life put a baton in her hand and she began to twirl
Her hair all nice and curled

Now she sits all alone
Forever lost in this big world
If you listen closely you can hear her groan
If you ever happen to see her just give her your heart to hold

Oh Annie why can't you see
The whole world spins for you
Like the yellow of a bee
Success is where you should be

Stay away from the beer
Stay away from the party
It will just give you fear
It will make you tarty

I once knew a girl
Who was lost in a cold world
Life put a baton in her hand and she began to twirl
Her hair all nice and curled

It's been many years since I've seen her
From what I heard she is still sad
Oh Annie whats the cure
What can't be done to make you mad

Oh Annie why can't you see
The whole world spins for you
Like the yellow of a bee
Success is where you should be

Stay away from the beer
Stay away from the party
It will just give you fear
It will make you tarty

I like this song, its so sad and full of longing. I have known a couple of girls who were like that, though they seemed to manage to shake themselves out of it. Well done,

John
