The Spring of '22
Way back in the Spring of '22
My granny loved to tell
About a wily wind that blew
Some swore t'was straight from...well...

Seems her mama had a bout
Of indigestion, rough and strong
An outhouse trip in hurry made
Somehow went awfully wrong

See, pappy had a habit bad
Of smoking in the loo
Great Granny ran inside right then
And soon that outhouse blew!

Some swore they saw them flying o'er
Great Granny's bloomers shone
As Pappy puffed his cigarette
Then from sight they were gone

The noise from that explosion rang
Throughout those Carolina hills
Echoing both far and wide
And it rattled Pappy's stills

No one knows just where they landed
But the whole town, they all knew
That a foul wind carried them away
In the Spring of '22

I was just cruising through the humor category because I was hoping to get cheered up from the lousy mood

I have been in recently. This funny poem did the trick and noe I am wearning a big ole smile :-))

This is so cute and creative, no wonder it is sporting a well deserved metal.

Great morning laugh --- my Grandparents had an outhouse when I was a little kid; well that was quite a bit later than spring of '22!!
