Light across the Water
I stand now and remember
a scene of my old times
when the gleam of youth shone
and the nets were full
now the echo of calling gulls
splintering the edge of stillness
carry home this moment
to a heart now rimed with time
The wind stirs and sand rises
a dancing dervish from the dunes
I hear an echo of laughter
a whisper on sea breezes
fast friends now passed away
caught and held by the waters
some of them called home
For them a cant of deck
and sail's slapping rhyme
replaced a hearth and home

Lost in the desire of solitude
old stones dark with waters flowing
storms from the wild sea
fogs grey and dark
women who wait for boats at dusk
We walk in night's decending shroud
down this pier to the waters wide
and the light spins and shines
I grasp and hold you close
my one and only son
as my father once held me
a life and many years ago
and my eyes are stung to tears
Oh let me dream of your desire
as the water's rhythm sings
and we feel the breath of life
cold and fresh from the sea
The red beacon sweeping
across these shifting shoals
calling home our hopes
and the boats bringing herring

AS ...I read your words how they express all your emotions into a story of your place and your time..

Visial words that paint a picture.... Your young life ...your future    and your present life
