And if these Stones Could Speak
And if these stones could speak
what wonders would I hear
Sweeping away to horizon's edge
this sea of fractal landscapes
bleeds from the morning mist
These innumerable crevasses
cracked and icy hard
beneath a frigid solstice
call wildly through layers of shadow
and salve my eyes with wonder
Here stand kernals of rock
this sandstone spine of the land
Now laid bare from the sheen of ice
by an isolated and furious storm
born from the crackling East
Oh and how time has passed
uncountable years since birth
beneath the swirling layers
of a warm and shallow sea
The myriad forms of life's creation
that have passed this way
and if these stones could speak
what wonders would I hear

...and could we grasp the meaning of the message? ...if these stones could speak.  We are limited in understanding, with minds that find it difficult to understand all that is not visible.  But we do like to ponder when we look up into the starry sky...Awesome!

When I read your work I see visial ......I feel your questions and understand your poetry....

Mother Nature with all her scultpured  Mountains   rocks that reach out into the sea ....

waves lashing her strength and the sea mist that showers the day and evening....

 You capture all her beauty.....

Another favorite... I too wonder what the rocks would surrender  in whispered words...

Yes the stones are beyond the walls we build ourselves in to hide

Yet the building blocks of life itself are  displayed in the mountains.

Nicely done ...

If these stones could speak - I wonder if mankind would even be ready to hear.  That said, this work is lovely in its mind bending and allure to seek answers.  I found myself wanting to hear them speak too.  Beautiful.  ~Pamela

The impossibly sweet song of Mother Nature, captured and shared beautifully!
