Upon One Such Day
Upon one such day,
the two witches thought to say,
tonight is the time,
to sing another rhyme,
as the sun set that night,
our favorite witches in black and white,
decided again upon the rain,
to bring life to a plain,
the two witches danced a jubilee,
this time beneath a tree,
she in white came to chant,
clouds come see this plant,
without water, to grow he can't,
he sang in tune,
with this watery rune,
I request of the rain this boon,
with a "CRACK" the storm did come,
while the tree did move some,
so the rain could fall,
upon the witches who call.

As always, John, a poem with your special signature.  I think the theme of witches is great.  Thanks for explaining to me about Wicca.  I see teo currents thus far:  Wicca and Impromptu Writing -- wonderful pair!  --David

I love the references to witches and runes.  The rain must feed the seedling to grow.   The clouds, from white to black and back to white as they empty life upon the tender sprout.  A wonderful melding of lore and nature.  ~Pamela

Wonderful setting and atmospherics -- brilliant characters and a splendid rhyme and rhythm -- just a lovely poem...
