High School Memories
Walked down those halls for the very first time
Not sure what to expect
New faces
New everything
Heart races
Only hear stories in Junior High
Wasn't sure what to expect
Were those stories true?
Were they a lie?
Were they told to scare you?
Made the best of everyday
Had some bumps
Had some days that weren't so great
Only thing I did know
Were those were the days
The days that I will remember
Made some friends
Made high school great
Through the thickness and thin
Through the fires
The bomb threats
Lock downs
Assaults in the halls
Mid Canadian winter evacuations during phys ed wearing shorts and a tee shirt
Made the best of it the best I could
Went to school with a smile on my face
Because those are the memories that will stick.

Wonderful slice of nostalgia so eloquently expressed -- so unlike my English school-days which were not so great -- a lovely write --

It is always such a surprise to me when I hear that someone actually enjoyed high school -- my own experience was... well... not so great.  Regardless, this is a well-told tale, easy-to-read, extra-special.  --David
