My paper dolls, how pretty they can be:
Their paper homes, each tiny paper tear
A game of fragile whimsy and veneer,
An exercise in faith and mockery
And even more in sweet futility.
Each one created just to disappear,
Its brief existence nothing but sincere,
As meaningless as any fantasy;
A life in trade for lives I've rent and torn.
A thousand paper dreams reduced to ash―
A better world, where they were never born.
You'll push me out, for I have played my part;
I'll close my eyes and brace against the crash,
And burn to nothing in my paper heart.

You've no paper heart -- but one that cries and yet is strong.  You express yourself beautifully.  Your poem is magnificent.  A joy to read.  --David

As ephemeral as a snowflake, that is what love truly is, when you get to it's very core. It's real meaning, as short lived as the mayfly. Well done.
