On a Moonless Night
And here you have a lost choice
with time wasted on yesterday
like clicking of tongues against your teeth
What will be gained by staring
at the vacant empty landscape
where you deep thoughts coil
and like rabid scavenging dogs
are transformed and uprooted
in the perpetual emptiness
of a fatal and wild Moonless night

You envision being surrounded
by a thousand stark reasons
and a clear mirrored image
you refused to discuss
Your dark hurt places bleed
and painted eyes darting
mesmerised and oh so lost
in the flickering shadow
of a whispering ceiling fan
as a world cries in a dark rain

You hold a pain and bitterness
as a fevered sweat seeped
from pores rank with passion
while you demurely rise
to tentatively hoist yourself high
on the edge of a sacred coldness
and clutching a white handkerchief
your voice quivered speechless
one more tortured time
as your soul sought redemption

An excellent poem with fine imagery. It draws the reader into the Moonless night.

It is often better to keep some thoughts and memories buried deep with in the soul to allow yourself to keep living and breathing each day.  This line is so emotional and vivid, it truly captures a tortured heart and mind. "and like rabid scavenging dogs". Absolutely Wonderful line.

This entire poem is brilliant.
