looking deep into the darkening saphire,
the emerald gaze glazes over
staring deeper into the crimson abyss,
searching for the diamond twinkle of hope
within the obsidian soul.
shards of ruby anger lace
the tourmaline sea of emotions,
crystalizing the chalcedony agate fear
within the amethyst geode of courage,
brightening the onyx depths
of Chrystal's shimmering chrysoberyl heart.

As a kid I was a 'rock-hunter.'  I still have quite a few semiprecious crystals.  They're incredible. Some are geodes.  Many of them my parents brought back from Brazil c.1961.  They are unchanged.  We age -- they remain.  Your poem is a cluster of crystals.  Sensitive to the aspects of the stones.  Good writing, John!  --David
