As the Lights go Out
And I awaited you
when night came
The stars in slow procession
These unquenchable lights
that bathe our nights
with wonder
move onward
These everlasting fires
gleaming through the darks
and my dreams
Beneath the shadow of trees
a man's soul trembles
before that dark beauty
that lives within your eyes
Oh and can we hold
these secrets of the heart
There lies cold obscurity
and phantom vultures decending
to feed where love existed
And once intoxicated roses
bloomed before my eyes
Drifting aromatic scents
brought spiritual elevations
before the pain
and a cold cold sweat
upon a trembling brow
I stand now with betrayal
my love now but a corpse
as you leave me here
on a cold morning wind
And against my very will
all human laws lie broken
in a overwhelming obedience
to an old heart's desire
For...in the end...
which way does a soul turn
as the lights go out

A wonderfully sorrowful poem, touches my heart as it shed a tear for your loss.  I wish I could write so well but I'm glad sadness has departed for me and it will for you as well.
