Suicidal Thoughts
I stare at these bottles of pills
In front of me
The razor blade that's in my hand
The pictures of war
Of my wife and unborn children
Spread out on the table
Tears fall down
As the blade glides across my wrist
I see the blood appear
But I feel nothing
I am numb
I cut again and again
I want to end the memories
The pain of death
I'm not afraid of dying
I've seen it more than most my age
The sounds of war invade my mind
As I press the blade deeper
Still feeling no pain
Why won't I die
Why do I keep surviving
I can't do this anymore
I'm done
I close my eyes
As I lay within a pool of blood
I close my eyes
My body starts to shiver
I'm cold
Will anyone notice if I'm gone

Suicide leaves a terrible legacy.  I know.  My sister committed suicide over twenty years ago.  I miss her every day.  Yes, if you kill yourself, your friends and family will not only notice that your gone:  they will weep forever.  You are depressed.  Are you under psychiatric care?  I am a manic-depressive.  Medicine has changed my life.  Don't give up.  Suicide leaves a terrible legacy.  --David
