The Champion's Dragon
The Champion raises
his empty guantleted hands,
creating a focal point
like a prism
for the fluctuating energy.

As the man raises his hands,
the Dragon bellows out
his fiery tempest,
immolating the Champion.

Wreathed in fire,
the energy manifests a shield,
protecting the Champion from
instant death.

When the inferno clears,
Dragon and Champion
glare in grudging respect
for the others perseverance.

Upon that fateful day,
Man and Dragon came together,
and the legend of
The Champion's Dragon
shall live forever.

Even grudging respect is a sort of peace...  and who is The Champ now?  (...you...)  ...Brilliant images and superb writing -- very visual -- like a movie!  --David
